Spring lock washers are made of spring steels, 65Mn and #70 steels or stainless steels. Its formed from a steel wire or square bar to a spring shape. When the washer is loaded it acts like a spring and feflects, providing a preload between the two surface. It's used together with a screw and nut, some times also need a flat washer.
